Watch How it Looks Like

Chapter 1 - Al-Fatiha is now completed, bringing its meaning to life for Deaf Muslims.

The Challenge

• BSL is their first language.
• Written text is hard for them.
• Qur’an remains inaccessible.
• True essence out of reach.

Our Mission: The Qur'an in BSL (QBSL)

We are making the Qur’an fully accessible in British Sign Language.

What Makes QBSL So Unique?

  1. BSL has its own grammar and structure.
  2. Visual translation captures the Qur’an’s beauty better than English.
  3. Creating a true and meaningful translation is challenging.

Why Not Just Read It in English?

Sign language is a unique, visual language that conveys deep emotions and
meaning in a way that spoken languages such as English cannot

The Urgent Need

For the full Qur'an, we need:

£2,500,000

Why Does It Cost So Much?

Because we aim to do it once, do it perfectly, and make it last forever. This project will serve Deaf Muslims globally and act as a powerful Dawah tool for Deaf non-Muslims.

This is not a simple translation. Each step is carefully executed:

  • Studio Setup
  • Al Isharah Team
  • Scholars & Shuyukh
  • Deaf Advisors & BSL Experts
  • Interpreters & Deaf Consultants
  • Creating New Words in BSL
  • Revision & External Review
  • Finalized Signs for Each Word
  • Recording, Editing & Publishing

Meet Sayfullah

STOP EVERYTHING AND FEEL HIS STORY

The Deaf Population:

UK: 1 in 5 people are Deaf (12 million individuals).
Today: 12 Million Deaf
By 2035: 14.2 Million Deaf

The Power of Dawah

If just 1% of the Deaf population in the UK discovers Islam through this Qur’an:
Today: 120,000 reverts
Yet very little is done for Deaf Muslims and non-Muslims.

Deaf Muslims Experience Islam Differently

“I use my hands to express myself.” (Hands signing)
“I use my eyes to take in the world around me.” (Looking at BSL signs)

Look at this man making Dua:
He does not use spoken words to supplicate.
He visualises his supplication through his hands.
