BSL Level 3

 

The level 3 course starts in November and is expected to finish in April.  

3 units will be taught. This is a more in-depth study of British Sign language. This course will allow you how to grasp communicating with different audiences, work on your receptive skill and allow you to develop your productive skills focusing on BSL sign order, placement, role shift non-manual features and also elaborate on linguistics of BSL.    

Level 3 Certificate in British Sign Language (BSL) caters for the learning needs of those who already have competence in BSL at Level 2. Successful learners must be able to demonstrate competence at Level 3 of the UK Occupational Language Standards (CILT, 2010). This means that the learner will be able to understand and use varied BSL in a range of work and social situations.

Units in Level 3:

  • BSL320: BSL Linguistics 
  • BSL321: Receptive Skills; Understand varied British Sign Language in a range of work and social situations
  • BSL322: Productive Skills assessed through a presentation and conversation

Assessment

All assessments are class based and will take place during class times.

Entry requirements

You will be assessed before beginning the course. You must have the ability to communicate at this level or have a level 2 qualification. Please contact us ro book an assessment

Time and Days

It is currently scheduled to take place on Thursday evenings from 6.00-9.00pm

Location

Classes will take place in Whitechapel.

Fees

The price of the course is £985. (Instalment plans available, Terms and conditions apply). There are additional exam fees that need to be paid on top of the course fees. The break down is as follows:
