Departing of our dear student Atiya

Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

It’s really hard to find some words to express our sympathies on the passing of our lovely 14 years old student, Atiya. May Allah have a mercy upon her and grant her Jannah. Ameen.

It was not easy for us to lose one of our deaf students. We will always remember Atiya and the nice moments with her during nearly 3 years at Alisharah Deaf Islamic School.

Everyone knew of Atiya’s health problems especilally kidney failure. She always used a food machine with a tube that goes straight to her tummy. That’s how she was feeding herself during her life MashaAllah.

Despite of this matter, Atiya was a brave girl and always had a keen mind to learn about Islam through BSL ( British Sign Language)

When her health situation became worse, she couldn’t come to her Islamic class any more. So her wonderful mother asked all School staff to visit her daughter at home. She already informed us that Atiya would die sooner or later due to her kidney failure.

You can’t imagine the emotions we felt for Atiya as she herself wasn’t aware of what would happen to her until Allah took her soul! Let’s say: Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’oon- We all belong to Allah and to Him we will return.

The amazing last moment of Atiya’s life was that she was asking her mother for ‘Allah’s water’ in BSL. Do you get what she meant?…..Well, she meant the Zamzam water. SubhanAllah!

It is amazing and important  to acknowledge that she remembered ALLAH near the time of death! Let’s raise our hands and make Dua for her and her family in this difficult time:

“ May Allah in his mercy grant rest to Atiya, May her grave be a part of Jannah Firdaws and an abode of light. May Allah make her pass successfully in all the stages of the life after death. Ameen.”

Alhamdulillah some of us consoled Atiya’s parents after the funeral time. The prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “Whosoever consoles someone going through a difficult time, Allah will clothe him with the robes of honor on the day of Judgment” [Reported by Ibn Majah].

May Allah accept all of our good deeds and wipe away all our sins! Ameen.

On behalf of all Saturday School Staff at Al Isharah
